Berkeley Court
Kew

Challenge

We were tasked with conducting a complete transformation of this solid brick 1940’s home,
in collaboration with Joyce Architects. Beyond the demanding attention to detail and craftsmanship required, this project faced unique challenges. We had to secure the entire second storey double-brick structure while installing new steel beams to accommodate the extension below. Additionally, due to site restrictions, a massive 6m x 3m glass panel had to be lifted and installed by hand.

Form™ really made the year a rewarding and painless experience.

Solution

We worked closely with the engineer to resolve the challenges faced, including the propping details for the second storey. Out of the box thinking resulted in us building in reverse order to acommodate the glazing install. Throughout we worked collaboratively, with many site meetings with client and our trade partners.

We were delighted we chose Form™ as our builders as they did an outstanding job addressing the complexity of the build as well as demonstrating wonderful attention and craftsmanship to the detail requested by our architect.

To add to this complexity we chose to live in two small rooms of our house throughout the renovation even though every room was being renovated.

We give credit to the entire team who did their utmost to respect and work around our needs including relocating our kitchen, respecting our young boy’s sleeping times and at all times providing a professional and dedicated approach to “living” with us!

We could not recommend Form™ highly enough.
